USWNT Set for Rematch Against World Champion Spain

The U.S. women’s national team faces Spain again Tuesday, seeking a response after the world No. 1 side scored twice in the opening 14 minutes of Saturday’s 2-0 win. Despite creating opportunities and outshooting Spain, the Americans failed to finish, with a disallowed goal, a saved penalty and other missed chances underscoring their need for better execution in the final third. Coach Emma Hayes said she was frustrated but not deterred, and pointed to the team’s chance creation as progress while stressing that the U.S. must start more organized and make better decisions against Spain.
