Paramount reportedly develops Cyberpunk 2077 movie

Paramount is developing a live-action film set in the Cyberpunk 2077 universe, with producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura and developer CD Projekt Red attached, according to a Deadline report. Di Bonaventura's past producer credits include Transformers, Red, Shooter and The Meg. The project is in early development, with no writer, director or cast announced. Cyberpunk 2077 was released in 2020 and its Phantom Liberty expansion followed in 2023. The game has sold more than 40 million copies worldwide, and CD Projekt Red is developing a sequel. The Night City setting already spun off the Netflix anime Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, which is about to return for a second season. It remains unclear whether the Paramount project is separate from 2023 production-deal news involving Anonymous Content. The Deadline report gave no plot details.
