Three Face Charges in Beverly Oil Theft
Beverly, Massachusetts, police say three people from Worcester—an 18-year-old and two juveniles—were arrested after officers found them allegedly siphoning used cooking oil from two Cabot Street businesses. A neighbor alerted a business owner, who contacted police; officers found the group with a hose beside a rented van containing a pump and large storage tanks. Police estimate the recovered oil was worth about $2,700 and say it can be recycled into products such as biofuel. The three face charges including larceny from a building, receiving stolen property and using a vehicle in a felony; the adult also faces an unlicensed-driving charge. The allegations have not been proven in court.
