Austin Police Investigate Two Homicides, Seek Suspect
Austin police are seeking a suspect in the fatal assault of 66-year-old Jeffrey Grable, who was found injured near a bus stop on Norwood Park Boulevard in northeast Austin early Tuesday. Investigators believe Grable had been near the stop for several hours before a man approached, assaulted him and fled; police have not disclosed the cause of his fatal injuries. The suspect is described as a Black man in his 30s, about 6 feet tall and 185 pounds, last seen wearing a white T-shirt, black pants, white shoes and a backwards cap; police say the attack does not appear random but poses no ongoing threat to the community. Separately, a man died Tuesday night after an incident in a South Austin apartment-complex parking lot; investigators believe the victim and suspect knew each other, and no suspect was in custody as of Wednesday morning. Police are asking anyone with information, photos or video related to either case to contact them or submit an anonymous tip.
