Providence Mother, Toddler Stabbed; Suspect in Custody

A 2-year-old girl and her mother were stabbed Wednesday afternoon on Broad Street near Public Street in South Providence, where police believe they may have been waiting for a bus. The child was reported in critical condition, while her mother’s injuries were not life-threatening; other children nearby were unharmed.
