Youth Injured in Separate Crashes Across Three States

A Salem High School student was injured in an apparent hit-and-run while biking to school in Virginia Beach. The student was struck while turning onto Boxford Road, suffered cuts and bruises, and continued to school before a teacher noticed he was bleeding; the driver did not stop. Police are investigating, and the student’s mother and local officials are urging drivers to slow down and considering ways to improve safety for students walking and biking to school.
