Study links partners to lower post-meal glucose

An Israeli study found that people had smaller post-meal blood-sugar spikes and returned to baseline faster when eating with a loved one than when eating alone. Researchers describe this as “social physiology”; they also reported better temperature regulation and reduced stress responses with social partners, suggesting close relationships may influence basic bodily processes, though the findings do not establish a treatment for metabolic conditions.
