Liberty survived Gardner-Webb 24-23 on a 54-yard TD pass from Jaylen Henderson to Darius Copeland with 2:34 left, marking the Flames’ first win since Nov. 1, 2025. Henderson sparked the comeback after Deshawn Purdie’s early handoff, prompting talk of a quarterback controversy and leaving coach Jamey Chadwell stressing the need to improve at quarterback going forward.
