Paramount-Warner Deal Delayed to 2027 Amid Antitrust Challenges

A California judge extended the temporary restraining order on Paramount Skydance’s merger with Warner Bros. Discovery, delaying a potential closing to at least August 17 as courts weigh a possible preliminary injunction amid separate antitrust suits and a Writers Guild challenge. The extension allows time to resolve scheduling, meetings with state attorneys general and the WGA, and to prepare for a potential three-day evidentiary hearing, keeping the deal in limbo but still alive.
