Yamamoto strikes out 10 as Dodgers beat Braves 3-1 for 2-1 NLDS lead
Yoshinobu Yamamoto struck out a postseason career-high 10 batters over seven innings, allowing one run on four hits and one walk, as the Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Atlanta Braves 3-1 in Game 3 of the NL Division Series on Tuesday. Kiké Hernández hit a two-run homer in the fourth after Andy Pages singled, and Freddie Freeman followed with a solo homer, his 18th career postseason homer, for a 3-0 lead. Yamamoto, the 2025 World Series MVP, improved to 8-1 in postseason play and outdueled Chris Sale, who allowed three runs and seven hits in five innings. Mauricio Dubón robbed Freeman of a homer with a leaping catch in the third; Baldwin's bases-loaded grounder later scored Dubón for Atlanta's only run. Ozzie Albies doubled off Edwin Díaz to open the ninth but was stranded after a groundout and foul out as Díaz secured his first save since mid-August. The Dodgers lead the best-of-five series 2-1 and can advance with a Game 4 win. Tyler Mahle is set to start for the Braves against Tyler Glasnow; Mahle said an abdominal pull is now a non-issue.
