Guardians, White Sox set for winner-take-all ALDS Game 5

Cleveland’s Gavin Williams will start Saturday’s winner-take-all Game 5 against Chicago’s Sean Burke after helping close out the Guardians’ 9-5 win in Game 4, which tied the AL Division Series at two games apiece. Williams threw 18 pitches to finish Thursday’s game and said he feels ready; he also struck out 11 in his Game 2 start. Burke, who limited Cleveland to one run and one hit over 5⅓ innings in Chicago’s Game 2 victory, will start for the White Sox. Both managers may need to lean on their bullpens, and the winner will advance to face Tampa Bay in the AL Championship Series.
